SMRC Auto Solo at Scottish Performance Show
We’re running our first SMRC Auto Solo event as part of our presence at the Scottish Performance Show, which takes place in the grounds of Kinneil Estate in Bo’Ness on Sunday 9th June.
This is a fun event that offers drivers the opportunity to tackle a short tarmac course, marked out by cones, against the clock. You can take part in almost any car and all you need is a driving licence (if you do not hold a driving licence, you may still compete with a valid motorsport UK competition licence). You can carry a passenger aged 12 and above (providing they are at least 135cm in height).
If you’ve never seen one of these events before, take a look at this video of a certain Mr John Cleland, giving the clubs Citroen C1 a good thrashing at the last round of the Scottish Road Car Series last year.
The event costs just £20 to enter, which includes your entry pass to the Performance Show (which is £13 alone). This will give you a minimum of 6 runs across the day and there will be trophies for the top three at the end of the event.
£5 of each entry fee will also be donated to the Jim Clark Trust, to assist in the development of their new museum in Duns.
Sign on and safety checks for the event will start at 9am, with the first run starting at 10:30am.
