2022 Calendar Announcement
Full day events, a return to Cadwell Park, a C1 endurance race, live streaming and some great visiting content – 2022 is shaping up nicely!
We’re very pleased to be able to release our 2022 calendar, which will take on a much more traditional format than we have seen over the past two seasons, with a return to full day events and more evenly spread dates across the year.
After some fantastic feedback from this year’s away round to Cadwell Park, the 2022 calendar will once again see our championships visit the Lincolnshire venue for our club away round in July. The calendar also features one event in Knockhill’s anti clockwise format, in June, to offer some more variety for our drivers. This event will feature a championship scoring 90-minute Scottish C1 Cup endurance race, offering drivers in this championship a completely new challenge, with mandatory pit stops and the option to team up with another driver. More details on this event to follow!
We are also very pleased to be welcoming the BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 Championship back to our opening round of the season in April as well as the Modified Ford Championship and the fantastic Super Tourers to our May event.

We have also worked in partnership with Knockhill Motor Sports Club to maximise opportunities for all our respective championships in Scotland and as such, next years calendar will welcome the Scottish Legends Championship into our final two events of the year and will also see our Scottish Formula Ford Championship feature in some of the KMSC events; the championship will miss our anti clockwise round in June (which is historically not a favoured configuration for Formula Ford) and also our May event, featuring in KMSC’s June and July events instead. To maximise opportunities for a strong grid, the Scottish Formula Ford Championship will also enjoy a triple header away round with the National BRSCC Formula Ford Championship at Croft in May.

What’s new next year?
As well as a return to full day events, next season will also feature the launch of our new Scottish BMW Junior Championship, which aims to introduce younger drivers to the clubs events. In addition, all SMRC events will be live streamed next year meaning friends, family, sponsors and supporters will be able to tune into the race day action live, wherever they are in the world!
On a safety note, Motorsport UK recently made an announcement on new fire extinguisher regulations for next year. This will require competitors in 2022 to have an FIA homologated fire extinguisher (serviced within the last 12 months). More details can be found in their Revolution Magazine article.
