AVO UK Suspension Partnership
We’re very pleased to announce that AVO UK Suspension will be the official supplier of dampers to the Scottish Junior BMW Championship next year.
To help maintain a level playing field and to keep budgets under control, all cars competing in Scottish Junior BMW Championship will run the same AVO GTZ front and rear damper kit, with a custom camber adjustable top mount on the front dampers. This suspension package has been developed specifically for our championship with AVO UK’s in house engineering team to help provide competitors with a consistent and rewarding driving experience.
The dampers themselves feature twin tube technology, bump and rebound adjustment and adjustable ride height settings, offering a broad range of set up parameters to help adjust the BMW 116i to different conditions and to provide young drivers with a suitable introductory tool for suspension set-up.
The Northampton based company has a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning over 20 years in the motorsport industry making them an obvious choice to supply suspension for the new Scottish BMW Junior Championship as SMRC Business Development Manager, Rory Bryant, explains:
“In planning the build spec for our junior championship, we are striving to develop a car that offers a great driving experience for our new racers and offers them with the basic tools to help them develop technically, whilst keeping budgets sensible. Having evaluated a number of suppliers we felt AVO UK offered the best all round package for suspension in terms of performance, adjustability, price point and ongoing customer support.”
The GTZ dampers will be available to purchase as part of the Junior BMW Championship build pack, which will be released in the coming weeks. However, individually, it is anticipated that the GTZ damper sets will be available to purchase for £680 + VAT. Beyond the initial purchase, competitors and teams will have access to AVO’s customer service team for ongoing advice and support, with a damper servicing and repair available from £50 / damper.
