2022 Scottish Junior BMW Championship Confirmed

We are absolutely delighted to have received approval from Motorsport UK to allow us to announce that our 2022 Junior Championship (for 14-17 year olds) will use the BMW 116i (2004-2006) car.

Since announcing that we had initial approval to run a junior championship in 2022, we have received an amazing amount of support, with over 40 people signed up to note their interest in the new Championship. Now that we are able to share our plans for the car, we’re confident that this interest will only grow further!

We believe the lure of the BMW brand and the affordable nature of the base cars, combined with the opportunity for junior drivers to learn their craft in a rear-wheel-drive car makes for a really exciting and unique package.

Our next step for the championship is to build an initial car for inspection by Motorsport UK. By nature, Junior Championships run to stricter regulations than ‘senior’ championships with a mandatory requirement for fully FIA approved weld in roll cages and side impact protections amongst other elements. Our first car is currently with Custom Cages getting the roll cage engineered and fitted to the appropriate standards.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be releasing more information on the exact build spec and we aim to be in a position for interested parties to place orders for build kits in November 2021.
